Review Before You Export

BeforeUpload Redact does not force an all-or-nothing result.

Every suggested redaction is selected by default, but you stay in control:

• Keep a suggested redaction selected if the text should be hidden
• Uncheck it if the value is safe to leave visible
• Preview the black boxes on top of the screenshot before exporting
• Start over with a new image when needed

When you export, BeforeUpload creates a new PNG file with the selected areas covered in black. The download uses the original file name with `.redacted.png` added, making it easier to tell the safe copy apart from the original.

Private By Design

BeforeUpload Redact runs the review in your browser. The image is not uploaded to BeforeUpload for analysis.

That matters because redaction is often needed precisely when the screenshot contains something private. The safer workflow is simple:

The exported PNG is also cleaned of extra PNG metadata, so the file you share is focused on the visible image content and the redactions you chose.
